During my Pouch Cove Artist Residency in 2003, I created work relating to the Beothuk Natives and the European settlers of Newfoundland. These acrylic paintings and monotypes convey the struggle for survival by both groups in Newfoundland history. As much as the people, my work also memorializes the images of both cultures as well as their complex topography of land and sea.
